According to the information we’ve gathered from multiple sources, Sangal Esports is acquiring this roster, and Ahmet “paz” Karahoca is expected to be the 5th player, making the full roster:

🇹🇷 Özgür “woxic” Eker (AWPer)
🇹🇷 İsmail Can “XANTARES” Dörtkardeş (IGL)
🇹🇷 Ömer “imorr” Karataş (Riffler)
🇹🇷 Buğra “Calyx” Arkın (Support)
🇹🇷 Ahmet “paz” Karahoca (Support/Riffler)

The coach Canpolat “hardstyle” Yıldıran who has been coaching imorr and paz in Sangal for a year now, is also expected to be replaced by another Turkish coach, but it’s still unknown who will be coaching the new roster.

Riot Games’ FPS game Valorant, that is being prepared to be fully released on 2nd of June, is going to be added to the world wide known esports site Faceit.

Valorant just entered the esports scene with ease as many CS:GO players and even professionals decided to switch to Valorant. It seems that Faceit also sees the potential in Valorant regarding esports.

Faceit, which is one of the most preferred platform in the world for esports events, is especially known for its superiority in CS:GO over other services.

Faceit hasn’t released an official matchmaking for VALORANT, probably because the game isn’t fully released yet, or systems aren’t ready, instead there are hubs opened and managed by members or organizations of Faceit.

It seems that the match result will not be gathered from the servers instead captains are expected to enter the results manually on their own. Here is a screenshot of a Valorant Faceit lobby.

Captains will manually enter the results of the match at the end and both sides will have to confirm it, hub admins will interfere if there are any conflicts. As for the game modes, 5v5 and 1v1 formats are available.

Faceit’s new community feature allows organizators to create a community where players can meet and play against other free queue players.

Turkish Community League is the first organization to introduce this new community system to CS:GO players. What this system allows you to do is, you can find new teammates within your community rather than random players and this community is supervised by hub admins, therefore you will experience less toxicity compared to random matchmaking.

New community system looks like this, you can see other members, talk in the chat, create lobby and start queueing without creating party with those players.

This is what players see when they create a new lobby within the community. They have a private chat and can kick the players they don’t want.

Just after they won StarLadder Berlin Major 2019, we’ve interviewed Emil “Magisk” Reif from Astralis. You may just watch it on YouTube or you can find the transcription below.

Gamerbase: Against Team Liquid, you’ve picked Vertigo. Some people thought that’s because both of the teams weren’t prepared as much as you are prepared to other maps. Did you prepare enough just after it got into the pool? What was the reason for picking Vertigo?

Magisk: I think the reason was actually practicing a lot and pug like throughout the whole bootcamp we had before this tournament. We put a lot of effort into actually playing the map and making sure we found out the meta and how other teams are playing it. You know, finding all these ways people are playing it, copying it, getting good at it, feeling confident about it and eventually being able to play it here in the big match. It’s definitely because we felt confident about it but also because we had a good idea that they weren’t the best team on it. Because of the break they had, they didn’t have too much time to actually play all maps and keep up on all maps. We had a good idea of that Vertigo was probably one of the maps they probably couldn’t give so much time. I’m not saying they are really bad on the map, but I think it showed we are the better team in the end on Vertigo and that I’m happy it paid out.

Gamerbase: What was the most challenging team for you in Champions Stage of the Berlin Major?
Magisk: I mean we lost against NRG so I definitely think that they are pretty good opponent at challengers stage, but I think also team CR4ZY played pretty good. They have pretty good individual players and you could definitely feel that they really wanted to win as well so I think it would be NRG, but CR4ZY was a good opponent as well and it was a fun match to play.

Gamerbase: Astralis was dominating the era for a long while but lately, you were slightly worse. Even though this, you’ve never changed any player in the roaster, but some teams prefer to do such changes quite frequently. Do you plan to stick with the same squad for a long while? Have you ever thought to change a player in the roaster?
Magisk: No, It’s wasn’t even a topic at all. We’ve never talked about the idea or anything like that. We’ve won almost everything in 2018, we started 2019 pretty good, we’ve won a major and we won São Paulo. Yes, it’s been a rough few months, but I think it’s easier to just quit the project. Just giving up and maybe changing some players… But I don’t think that’s the mentality anyone on the team have. I think everyone knows their place in the team and they know how to play in a team. We all know how we should improve ourselves both individually but also as a team. Also, we are just good mix of people outside the game. I think we are always having fun, we are always enjoying each others company and I think it’s really important if you want to stick together and play on the same team but also if you want to be good in game. Anyway, it’s never been actually a topic we’ve talked about and I don’t think it’s gonna happen in a long time.

Gamerbase: That’s really nice to hear, thank you for your time.
Magisk: Thank you.

Magisk: “It’s been a rough few months, but I think it’s easier to just quit” önce Gamerbase bağlantısında yayınlandı.

Disclaimer: This content is based on the author’s sources and may not be 100% true. According to the revealed email Valve has sent to their partners previously, it’s not possible to organize a major tournament in Sydney due to the time zone unless Valve decides to make a change.

According to our information we gathered from our sources, ESL will organize 2020s first major in Sydney, Australia.

Berlin major has ended recently and the community is curious about when is the next major tournament. There are many people who think that the next major will be played in USA. However, according to our sources, Valve isn’t considering USA yet.

Gamerbase’s sources revealed that next major will be organized by ESL and played in Sydney, Australia. The name of the tournament will be “IEM Sydney CS:GO Major Championship 2020”. It will be played between 11th and 24th of May next year.

It’s known that ESL is changing into a new format which they will organize two grand tournaments in a year. It doesn’t come as a surprise that ESL will be the organization that will take responsibility for 2020s first major. Although Sydney part is a big possiblity, it’s not exactly confirmed.

When this information is confirmed by authorities officially, for the first time the major will be played on a continent other than Europe and America.

We had an interview with Oliver Lumsden.

Gamerbase: Can you give some information about demise as an organisation?

Oliver Lumsden: Demise was founded in November 2017 by myself and Andy in the UK, we both had a passion for esports and wanted to create a brand that was eye catching, something an esports fan would catch onto and I definitely think we have done that. Earlier this year we added Aziz to the board. We have grown massively in recent months signing players and teams all over the world to compete at the highest level.

Gamerbase: You have made a ton of Turkish esports fan by adding Turkey5 to your organization. Why did you choose Turkey5? What are your long term goals?

Oliver Lumsden: We had a long discussion about which csgo team to go for and ultimately we came to a decision that Turkey5 would be great to sign, not only are they fantastic players but the Turkish esports scene is brilliant and full of talent. We want to thank the fantastic Turkish community. Our long term goals are to work with this team and keep a stable Turkish powerhouse lineup because ultimately that’s what the fans want right? We want to make everyone proud.

Gamerbase: When we look at team’s roster on ESEA we can see “mini2k”. Is he on the full roster? Will you make an announcement about him?

Oliver Lumsden: You’ll have to wait and see 😉

Gamerbase: Will Demise CS:GO team live in England or Turkey? Do you plan on having them in a gaming house in England?

Oliver Lumsden: We are looking at potential offers for gaming houses, it’s definitely something we’re discussing internally and we are waiting for the right opportunity.

Gamerbase: MDL Season is starting this week. What are your goals for ESEA Season 32? Would you like to see the team qualifying to Pro League?

Oliver Lumsden: After unfortunately dropping out of pro league to NiP and Windigo our aim is so get straight back up there as we know we’re capable of fantastic results.

Gamerbase: Do you plan on joining the tournaments that will be played in Turkey?

Oliver Lumsden: We’ll look to attend as many as we can as long as there are no conflicts in events.

Gamerbase: Buying team merch is a problem for Turkish fans as Sterlin has much more value than Turkish Lira. Do you have any plans regarding this issue?

Oliver Lumsden: When we initially released our limited edition Turkish Jersey we had alot of fans say it was too high priced for people in Turkey to buy. So we listen to them and halved the price within 24 hours of them asking! So we’re definitely listening to what people want!

Gamerbase: Thank you for accepting our interview request. Do you want to say anything to Turkish Fans?

Oliver Lumsden: I want to say thank you for giving us such a fantastic welcome into the Turkish esport scene. We hope to do everyone proud!

We had an interview with André “BARBARR” Möller.

Gamerbase: You managed to place 2nd at Dreamhack tournament 2 months ago and qualified to Europe Minors, why did the organization disband Ancient despite good results?

BARBARR: I explained this a bit in my twitlonger. The guys had been playing for a long while together and some players felt they wanted to try new grounds. This was kind of the case even before Ancient was created. We needed a last run together, we got it and i think we did great.

Gamerbase: What do you think of Plopski as a player? If he stayed on the team, do you think you would be able to pass the group stage of Europe Minors?

BARBARR: Plopski is a player with a great potential and starting to shape into the diamond he’s destined to be. If he stayed on the team, maybe we would qualify, maybe not. Would we have a bigger chance? Yes.

Gamerbase: You were disqualified from Europe Minors after losing to BIG with a 2-1 score. What do you think of your performance in Minors? What would you change if you had the power?

BARBARR: The performance in the minor wasn’t to bad. We entered with smiles even though the transfer of plopski. But of course a bit of worrying feelings about the game since we knew that the time was not enough to prepare, even though we did our absolute best to get ready with Grux.

Gamerbase: You have been playing CS for a long time. You said that you missed competetion on an interview back in 2016. Are you satisfied with what you have accomplished in last 3 years? Do you plan on staying on the professional scene? If the answer is yes, would you like to be a player again rather
than a coach?

BARBARR: I can’t say im happy with the progress, last 3 years have been a bit of a rollercoaster. Managed to take teams into the top20-30 but after that usually a player got bought out or the organisation behind started to crumble. In the end, all this is yesterday.

If im staying in CS? Hell, i grew up here…
Did my first local tournament 2006 and im not going anywhere.

Gamerbase: Three Turkish players Woxic, XANTARES and Calyx represent Turkey on international teams. What do you think of these players? If you were to create a new team, would you like to play with any of them?

BARBARR: Woxic, Xantares and calyx is players ive seen from the start in their Turkish teams. They are for me representing explosiveness and individual talent that is hard to find anywhere else. They all just need the stable surroundings for a while.

Gamerbase: You became Ancient’s coach when pronax retired. What do you think of pronax? Would he be succesful as a coach?

BARBARR: Pronax is someone i knew since more than 10 years back. He was always very dedicated, no matter the setbacks. If Markus can give his 100% to coaching, he would be successful.

Gamerbase: Lastly, you have been on the pro scene for a very long time. Can you tell us your happiest moment?

BARBARR: I think it must be 2011(CS1.6) in Bilbao, Spain. We built the team from scratch some months before (me moddii pronax kalle tacky) and went on to reach the final as underdogs, beating both na’vi and Fnatic on the way.

Gamerbase: Thank you for accepting our interview request, is there anything you would like to add?

BARBARR: Thanks for the interview.

It turns out that there was a misunderstanding as the team manager of BIG, Christian Lenz, stated that he still has a valid contract for this year.

UPDATE

XANTARES has made a statement about his contract as well. His statement:

“I believe my statement regarding my contract with BIG hasn’t been understood correctly. My contract with BIG is still valid until the end of this year. Additionally I’m very happy to be a part of this team and not looking to move on. Rumours about my departure from BIG and joining another team aren’t true.”

Turkish CS:GO star XANTARES said on his live stream that his contract with BIG has been expired.

BIG transferred XANTARES at the end of 2018 with great expectations. However, they weren’t able to achieve their goals and went for changes in their roster. BIG is now expected to perform much better than they did before with these changes.

Last night XANTARES said on his live stream that his contract with BIG has been expired for 2 months now but there are not any issues, he says that they have a trust relationship with the management of the team and everything is all right.

It means that he is free to go another team, like a free agent, if he wants unless BIG renew his contract.

Here is the translation of what he says in the clip.

“I don’t have a contract right now, but it doesn’t mean I’m leaving. We trust each other (with the management), we don’t have any problem. I want to stay in the team, I like my friends, no one has any problem with me as well, everything is all right.”

Although he says everything is fine, it’s a subject of curiosity as to why they haven’t renew his contract in last 2 months.

We interviewed with ex-SS‘s Captain Engin “Majer” Küpeli who is currently playing for French squad LDLC.

>Türkçe çeviri için tıklayın

Gamerbase: BIG has said that XANTARES couldn’t even throw nades properly when he first got in the team and they had to teach him everything from the beginning because of this. How was he with tactics when he was playing for Space Soldiers? What do you think about his decreasing performance, why he can’t perform as good as he used to?
Maj3r: Well to be honest, XANTARES knew how to throw a good flash, they are overreacting about that, he has a unique playstyle and he may lack of teamplay bacause of his style but he knows how to play this game. As a leader you have to use your players in the best way to perform. I gave him a lot of space on T side, switching between entry role and lurker role, he is like a Pitbull, you have to give him freedom, if you force him to do something it is not going to work. I understood that when I was playing with him. I think his peformance is not as good today because of two reasons:
-First the lack of ingame communication between them (English, German)
– And secondly BIG’s playstyle is all about their teamplay which is structural, disciplined. Players play for that structure. XANTARES lack of this quality and that’s why i think he hasn’t fit in the team yet.
Also BIG play slowly most of the time meanwhile XANTARES wants to get super aggressive. These two playstyles are completly different.

Gamerbase: Last summer, all Space Soldiers players had protested the organization. What was the reason for this? What issues did you experience? Can you tell us why the team decided to leave the organization?
Maj3r: There is no need to re-enter the details, they promised us sponsorships and a lot of thing which never happened. They are fantastic people, Aydin Family and their workers are very honest and good people but Space Soldiers was an amateur organisation in esports. Bunyamin Aydin was busy with his own business (Les Benjamins) and people he hired to improve his organisation were not in the esports scene. They didn’t Know anything about eSports. So in the end its was a good story, we had both good and bad times with both organisation and players.

Gamerbase: XANTARES had left the Ex-SS just before attending Europe Minor. How did this effect you? Did you know that he was going to leave or was it a bad surprise for you?
Maj3r: It was a bad surprise, we did a 24 hours car trip to play minor closed qualifier in Prague from Istanbul, and after we won our slot to minor, we got back to Istanbul and a couple days later, he told us in teamspeak that he wanted to leave us for BIG. Back then I used to talk with him a lot that I understood his desire to leave the team because we were stuck at Tier1/Tier2 level for one year and the team was not improving but i told him to do it after minor and please give us last chance because of what we have been through, but he wanted to play major this year and and going to BIG meant guaranteeing a major slot for him because BIG was already at challenger stage this year. If he had played with us at the minors he wouldn’t be able to play major with BIG. He told me that he was leaving because team was not improving and he wanted to play for the best teams in the world. He had multiple offers from Mousesports and FaZe also but he felt like Big was a family for him which made me sad when I heard it. I wish him good luck further. We had a good time kardeş let’s remember good memories 🙂

Gamerbase: You are playing for LDLC now. What do you think about LDLC? Would you consider LDLC as one of the best French teams?
Maj3r: I’m playing with LDLC yes, we are not in a good shape right now because we started from the scratch but we’ll be a good team by working hard.

Gamerbase: What do you think about Calyx to play for Windigo? Do you think he will achieve good results with Windigo? Would you like to have Calyx and Paz in LDLC? Did you attempt to add them to LDLC before completing a French squad?
Maj3r: Well, I wish Buğra good luck with windigo, he can accommodate himself by working hard, about Paz my brother, of course I wish I could bring him with me to everyteam I play. He is a very talented player, with good understanding of the game , he has potentiel to be the best player in the world with his aim and brain but he has to work. Unfortunately, this panda is very lazy!!! LDLC wanted a French team not international.

Gamerbase: Fifflaren has revealed some shocking information about NiP. What do you think about his revealings? Did you ever experience such issues with an organization you’ve played for?
Maj3r: I didn’t follow the story about NIP so I dont have any comments about it.

Gamerbase: What do you think about Turkey5? Do you think that one day they can represent Turkey as good as Space Soldiers did? Do you plan to come back to Turkey and play for a Turkish team in the future?
Maj3r: Well they are like my family, with all my heart, I wish them success as we did with Space Soldiers, Can Polat is a good leader, manager and a coach. If they trust him and themselves and play like a one team squad, they will do it , I dont have any doubt, I watch all of their games, they have potientiel to do it. For me, I took a hard decision to leave them in the past because of my little girl and some other reasons. I hope that one day I can go and play for a Turkish Team.

Gamerbase: We wish you more happiness together with your baby Defne. Is there anything you would like to say to Turkish CS:GO followers?
Maj3r: Thank you for the interview and thanks to everyone who takes their time to read it.
